Alex bydlel na Kilarney se svými rodiči Harrym a Liz Ryanovými a bratrem Nickem Ryanem. S Claire byl kamarádem už od dětství. Peter to uslyší, ale Claire mu řekne, že dítě není jeho, aby se ho zbavila. Proto Alex prohlásí, že on je otcem. V tu dobu je Claire těhotná. On si z ní utahuje a říká jí "mamčo" a jí to vadí. Až jednou, když Alexovi zajede auto do bláta, vydá se směrem k Drovers Run, kde najde v chatrči rodit Claire. Spolu s Tess jí pomáhá. Potom Claire vezme do náručí a odnese ji do domu.Pak se považuje za otce dítěte, ale Claire donutí událost s Alexovým zatajováním, že jeho otec není Harry, přehodnotit situaci. Nakonec napíše Peterovi, že je otcem on. Když pak Alex jede s Claire na obchodní jednání do města, vyznají si tam lásku a začne jejich románek. Když se vrátí, vichni je hned prokouknou. Alex chce s Claire dítě a taky si ji chce vzít. Položí jí na postel krabičku s prstýnkem. Jenomže Claire ho už neuvidí, protože spadne s autem ze strázu. Když jim uplakaná Tess přiběhne tu zprávu říct. Alex hned nasedne do auta a jede za ní. Rychle se slaňuje dolů a najde tam mrtvou Claire. Rozpláče se a pevně ji obejme. Když se vrátí jenom nenávistně pohlédne na postel, kde leží prsten. V tu dobu je na Drovers Stevie. Alex se rozhodne zabít bílého koně, o kterém si myslí, že je příčinou Claiřiny nehody. Stevie mu pomáhá. Nakonec uvidí bělouše s jeho rodinou a hříbětem a rozhodne se, že ho nezastřelí. Na pohřbu Claire vyzná lásku a položí jí na rakev prsten. Po nějaké době přijede jeho bývalá přítelkyně Tracy. Svádí ho, ale on jí řekne, že Claire byla jeho láska, nejen na celý život, ale na několik životů dopředu, a tak Tracy pochopí a odjede. Nakonec si začne románek se Stevie, se kterou se ožení a mají spolu syna Xandera. Alexův život skončí, když se vrací z cesty domů a spadne na něho strom. Odstrčil Stevie, aby nespadl na ní a to ho zabilo. Slíbí, že se vrátí a zemře plačící Stevie v náručí.
